Boudin Capital of the World hosts Boudin Eating Contest

With the City of Scott now deemed “Boudin Capital of the World”, business owner AJ Hebert of Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott, sought a way to promote this well earned title.

Cajun Harley Davidson and Don’s Specialty Meats in Scott teamed up to host the 1st Annual Boudin Eating Contest.

The 1st annual event took place on Saturday September 22 at Cajun Harley Davidson in Scott, with Don’s Specialty Meats providing the boudin.

The winner of the 1st annual Boudin Eating Contest also walked away with two $100 gift certificates to both Cajun Harley Davidson and Don’s Specialty Meats in Scott.

There was no purchase to participate and the contest was open to any “Food Warrior” 18 and older.
Each “Food Warrior” was provided with 5 links of boudin and bottled water, and another 5 links, each time until the 5 minute time limit.

The “Chipmunk Rule” was also in affect for “Food Warriors”, meaning food has to be swallowed 30 seconds after the buzzard.

“Food Warriors” were banned from any “Picnic Profanity”, meaning no throwing food under the table, or sneaking boudin into another “Food Warrior’s” plate.

Only in Boudin Capital, would there be a tie for first, why not it’s BOUDIN!!!
“Food Warriors”, Micheal Efferson of Covington and Greg McBridd of Lafayette had to “face-off”, not once but TWICE!

These “Food Warriors” really battled it out over boudin with TWO one-minute tie-breakers rounds, but in the end, only one could be named “Food Warrior” winner.

Michael Efferson of Covington, La. consumed a total of 8 ¾ links of boudin, walking away the winner, and a $100 gift certificate to Cajun Harley Davidson and a $100 gift certificate to Don’s Specialty Meats.

Greg McBridd of Lafayette was runner-up for the contest consuming a total of 8 ½ links of boudin, earning a $25 gift certificate to both Cajun Harley Davidson and Don’s Specialty Meats.
